Translation company with its customers
A translation or l10n service vendor may offer to their clients private repositories of memory, so customers can access all the translations that they have paid for. Each customer will have its own instance of Tumatxa, like www.translationcompany.com/private/customer1, where they can download or consult the memories.
Translation company outsourcing work with freelance translator
A translation or l10n service vendor may outsource part of their work with freelance translators. All of them can work over the same base memory, with unified terminology and so, accessing a private instance of Tumatxa like www.translationcompany.com/private/project2004_0012. As translator complete their tasks, the repository grows.
In this scenario, as in the previous one, the system can be customized. Perhaps sometimes it is enough that customers or translator consult the memories, not letting them download.
Public bank of TM
Public institutions that generate memories while they translate official documentation may decide that, as well as the documents are public, the translations and memories may well be so, as they have been payed by taxpayers. The public repository or bank will also help related institutions or other official bodies, so they can cut translation costs, unify terminology...
Free software project
A public repository of .po files can be created for any i18n project that follows the Gettext methodology. The various .po files can be packed in one downloadable file, so it can be used as a memory while translating with KBabel, for instance. The same repository will also work as an online glossary where direct queries will solve doubts, unify criteria, and so on.
Memories on an intranet
A complex organisation, where translators working at different locations, it is difficult to configure TM software to allow shared use. Installing Tumatxa on the Intranet, translators find a sharing point where they can exchange their efforts easily.
Queries towards the translation department
In an organisation working in different languages, most queries that a translation department must attend are not just task assignments to translate a given document, but casual queries or doubts about terminology. An online repository with Tumatxa available to all employees on the intranet, will solve those queries directly at the employee's workstation, saving time to translators.
